Chinese website for South Pacific tourism training launched
A new Chinese South Pacific specialist online training website has been launched to help tourism operators sell South Pacific destinations to the growing numbers of Chinese tourists venturing to exotic destinations like those in the Pacific Islands region.<!--more-->
The website has 15 modules for 15 member countries and each module has the material for review and a quiz. After registration and review of each country, the participant will become a ‘South Pacific Specialist’. When all the online quizzes are completed correctly, a certificate will be awarded to the successful participant.
Last year the South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) along with the Beijing office of <b>Pacific Islands Trade & Invest (PT&I)</b>, Tourism Samoa, Tourism Vanuatu, and Samoa Scenic, a Samoan inbound operator organised a roadshow in Beijing at which, SPTO CEO Ilisoni Vuidreketi and <b>PT&I</b> Trade Commissioner from Beijing Sam Savou co-announced the launching of the website.
A raffle for tour operators was also announced during the event. China International Forest Travel’s Mr. Zhang won the prize: tickets and accommodations in Samoa. On the eve of Mr. Zhang’s travel to Samoa for his holiday in paradise he said, “Thanks to SPTO and <b>PT&I</b> Beijing Office and thanks to Tourism Samoa, Fiji Airways and Aggie Grey’s Hotel, I am a very lucky man and I hope I will have a fantastic holiday there, and I am very looking forward to it.”
As the supporting partner, the <b>PT&I</b> Beijing office handed information brochures about Samoa to Mr. Zhang for his reference. “The Roadshow last year was a success and I hope SPTO and <b>PT&I</b> along with more NTOs from South Pacific will have more events in China.” Mr. Zhang said.
Before CITM 2014, , The office has also announced a roadshow in Guangzhou are going to have a Roadshow between November 14 and 16 and all travel agents and tourism media in Guangzhou and Guangdong Province have been invited to attend, and share experiences of the South Pacific. This is being promoted as a good opportunity to discuss any concerns about the newly launched South Pacific Specialist Online Training Chinese Website.
