First ever South Pacific food and wine fest begins


<p style="text-align: justify;">A first of a kind event to showcase the South Pacific’s unique cuisine to the world opened this week in Fiji. Celebrity chefs, restaurant operators, and hospitality experts from around the world have descended on Fiji’s high profile holiday destination Denarau to participate in the first ever South Pacific Food &amp; Wine Festival.<!--more--></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><a href=""><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-2829" style="border: 18px solid white;" title="SP Food and Wine Fest - Large" src="" alt="" width="135" height="216" /></a>The festival brings the opportunity to some 200 local tourism and hospitality industry professionals to learn more about the secrets of bringing up latest fashions in the food and wine industry. The festival also has participants and chefs from other Pacific islands presenting their own cuisines.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Among festival highlights are nightly degustation dinners, themed coffee breaks, opportunities to mix and mingle with celebrity chefs, attend master classes and cooking demonstrations and “Taste of the Pacific” gala dinner on the final night of the festival, which concludes over this weekend.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Besides, wares from boutique wineries and gourmet food producers from the world over are also there for sampling. The programme even features cooking classes for children.</p>
