The New Zealand Papua New Guinea Business Council is hosting a Fundraising Lunch for the people of Papua New Guinea impacted by devastating earthquakes.<!--more--><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-2510" src="https://pacificperiscope.files.wordpress.com/2018/03/rsz_png.jpg?w=300" alt="" width="300" height="194" />The NZPNG Business Council fundraiser will be held at the Northern Club in Auckland on <strong>Monday, 23 April</strong> from 12pm-2pm.

Pacific Trade Invest (PTI) New Zealand Trade &amp; Investment Commissioner Michael Greenslade who is also a member of the New Zealand Papua New Guinea Business Council organised the event that includes a charity auction of 3-4 collector?s items generously donated by some of the members including a signed Auckland Blues Rugby jersey and other memorabilia.

The NZPNG Business Council is seeking to lift the awareness of the disaster that has affected more than 250,000 people living in the highlands of PNG.? The magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck in the early morning of February 26 causing massive destruction with many people killed, entire villages destroyed and hundreds displaced by landslips, sinkholes and aftershocks.

The guest speaker, Chief Executive of Mission Aviation Fellowship NZ Mark Fox is well familiar with Papua New Guinea and will talk about his company?s activities in Papua New Guinea before and after the earthquake.

MAF flies in some of the most challenging places in the world to transport emergency relief, medical teams, teachers and resources to people in remote and distant places in the community.? MAF has a fleet of 135 light aircrafts in almost 30 countries.

MAF undertakes hundreds of medical evacuations to get sick people to hospital and provides the much need air link for agencies to reach the ?hard to reach? places.

Mark became the CEO of MAF in 2008.? He is extremely passionate about his MAF work and wants to develop and grow the depth of his work.

Mark lives in Tauranga with his wife Phillipa and has three adult children.
