Pacific Island products in the spotlight in Paris


Close on the heels of this month’s Fine Food Australia 2014 show in Melbourne, Pacific Island food and beverage exporters will be showcasing their wares at the Salon International de l'Alimentation (SIAL) in Paris next month.<!--more-->

For the first time ever, Pacific Island exporters will showcase their products on the first <b>Pacific Islands Trade &amp; Invest</b> <b>(PT&amp;I)</b> booth at the prestigious Parisian show.  From 19 to 23 October 2014, the Parc des Expositions de Paris Nord Villepinte-France will welcome the world’s major agri-food event, SIAL Paris, with more than 6,000 exhibitors and 150,000 high profile visitors, including French and international decision-makers.

SIAL Paris is a two-yearly food exhibition, held alternatively with the Cologne, Germany based Allgemeine Nahrungs und Genussmittel-Ausstellung (ANUGA). In combination, these events constitute the world’s largest and most important commercial food and beverage trade show platform.

Exhibiting at SIAL Paris offers Pacific Island businesses an opportunity to directly market their products to trade professionals; importers, distributors and retailers; food Industry and catering buyers from more than 200 countries.

The Pacific Islands Trade booth will be located in the National Pavilion section and will feature niche food and beverage exporters from Vanuatu, Tonga, Niue, Papua New Guinea and Fiji.

The inaugural Pacific Islands Trade booth is an initiative of the <b>PT&amp;I</b> Geneva desk and has been made possible by funding from the European Union via the Pacific Integration Technical Assistance Program (PITAP).

Pacific Island food and beverage exporters also participated at SIAL China earlier this year with excellent outcomes for the participants.
