Solomon Islands gets grant to make fiscal adjustments
In an initiative designed to support the Solomon Islands Government in making short-term fiscal adjustments to respond to the global financial crisis, the Manila headquartered Asian Development Bank (ADB) is providing a US$5 million grant.<!--more-->
This is also meant to strengthen the medium-term reform agenda, which aims to support inclusive economic growth in the country. The grant is the second part of the Economic Recovery Support Program, with the first subprogram approved in April 2010.
The initiative has gone some way in helping Government deal with the global economic crisis along with similar help from other international funding agencies.
