South Pacific Mozuku to bring range of seafood products
Owner Masa Kawaguchi says his company South Pacific Mozuku specialises in developing innovative ways of processing seafood for local consumption as also international markets. Presently, the company exports seaweed to Japan.<!--more--><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-2409" src="https://pacificperiscope.files.wordpress.com/2018/03/rsz_20170120_123034.jpg?w=300" alt="" width="300" height="169" />South Pacific Mozuku markets a diverse range of sea foods: pickled sea grapes, coconut infused smoked blood cockles (Kaloaa), a variety of different deep-water fish, sea breams, snappers and emperors.
The seaweed comes in 30g pouch bags (vinegar 10%) and 750g Mozuku seaweed pouch bags (salted 10%). The sea grapes come in a 30g jar (brine 20% salt). These products will be displayed at the PTI NZ Pasifika Business Market at the Pasifika Festival in Auckland on March 24-25.
On show also will be Dried Kaloaa, Dried Hohomo marketed under Pasifika Seafoods and Dried Maava. All packaging is to the New Zealand Ministry of Primary Industries packaging standard, says a communique from South Pacific Mozuku.
?Our objective is to add value to existing products and study market requirements and developing new market opportunities,? Mr Kawaguchi said.

?The Pacific Path to Market Programme is a great marketing tool for companies in the Pacific. It will open the doors to a lot of companies and also give people exposure to the NZ market,? Mr Kawaguchi added.
Path to Market is PTI NZ?s seven stage capacity building programme for exporters and export ready companies in the Pacific to help them find markets for their products in New Zealand.
One of the important stages in this programme is the companies? participation in a trade delegation at events such as Pasifika. Following the showcasing of their products, the companies attend a gap analysis workshop and a speed-dating style event to meet with prospective buyers and distributors in New Zealand.
PTI NZ will this year host more than 35 companies from 11 Pacific countries at the Pasifika Business Market at the Pasifika Festival in Auckland?s Western Springs. The festival is billed as one of the biggest of its kind anywhere.
