The Spring Gift and Homeware Fair attracts thousands of visitors from a wide range of businesses throughout New Zealand in gifts, pharmacies, interior design and homeware.

Pacific Trade Invest (PTI) New Zealand has invite four Pacific companies to exhibit at the Fair – including Essence of Fiji, Kora Pearls (Cook Islands), The Summit (Vanuatu) and Natural Fiji.

Essence of Fiji is a Fiji based spa and beauty company owned by Managing Director Debra Sadranu.

The company offers a quality range of natural skincare, body lotions, oils, gels and soaps for women and men made using local resources including coconut, seaweed, frangipani and papaya.

Although the products may be new in New Zealand – they have an established following in Fiji and are familiar to many overseas travellers who have visited the Essence of Fiji Rejuvenation Centre/Transit Lounge ( at the Nadi Airport in Fiji featuring its products.

Mrs Sadranu developed Essence of Fiji for her training school and spa chain Senikai Spas. She started manufacturing the range 15 years ago aimed primarily at tourists. With an abundance of natural resources available in Fiji, Mrs Sadranu developed Essence of Fiji using local marine and plant extracts with “a number of healing and beneficial properties for total skin rejuvenation.”

The Essence of Fiji Rejuvenation Centre Transit Lounge has proven very popular with international travellers on Trip Advisor – one of the world’s largest travel review sites.  An impressive 164 of 169 Trip Advisor reviews ratings were ‘Excellent’ or ‘Very Good’.  The most recent 10 were from travellers from San Francisco, Auckland, Brisbane, Singapore and New Orleans saying the centre was “So relaxing” “…Awesome” and “AMAZING.”

Essence of Fiji uses natural ingredients sourced from the local community. The product is natural. No additives, no parabens, no chemicals, no synthetics.  Essential oils and extracts from plants such as frangipani and papaya gives the product its natural fragrant scent whilst maintain the properties that promote healthful, youthful skin.

Essence of Fiji were part of PTI NZ’s Path to Market programme in 2014. They were identified as potential exporters and invited to attend PTI NZ’s Path to Market delegation to Pasifika Festival in 2015. Since then, they have developed a new premium skin care range aimed exclusively at New Zealand’s Spa market.

The Essence of Fiji brand will be launched at the Spring Gift Fair. However, they are rebranding as part of their expansion into global export markets and aligning it to their premium skincare range.

Essence of Fiji will be offered at lower prices to make way for the rebranded products that are being launched later in the year with a new concept.

“Thus, making our presence at the Fair and ideal opportunity for retailers looking for unique affordable gift ideas,” Ms Sadranu said.
