Suva based Natural Fiji products will showcase its range of products at the Auckland Spring Home and Gift Fair from August 27-29. It is one of four Pacific Island companies that Pacific Trade Invest (PTI) New Zealand has invited to participate in the trade-only show at a specially themed ‘Pacific Hub’ stand.Natural Fiji products include body bars, body oils, lotions, body butter, sugar scrubs, soap bars and a range of facial and hair treatments. These are made from cold pressed extra virgin coconut oil that acts as a natural emollient, making skin more soft and plump, at the same time drawing moisture to the skin.

These products come in a range of essential oils such as Frangipani, Lavender, Ylang Ylang and a natural coconut essence that is suited to skin types not used to perfumed skincare.

“We say no to harmful chemicals such as plastic microbeads and parabens. Our products are gentle to the skin and best for our environments,” says Ashneeta Sharma, the company’s New Zealand representative.

Ms Sharma said discerning customers liked the products because they are natural and organic. “Those that are aware of harmful chemicals in everyday cosmetics and believe in natural products definitely are getting their hand on Natural Fiji products. We all know the benefits of coconut oil, which is the base component of the skin care range,” she added.

Natural Fiji products are made from certified organic and natural ingredients. The company holds Australian organic and natural certification. The products are tested and developed on the Gold Coast in Australia before being manufactured and packaged in Fiji for local and export markets, including New Zealand, Ms Sharma told Pacific Periscope.

The company has its international marketing division in Brisbane, Australia, actively promoting and marketing its range to several countries.  In August 2013, it established its R&D centre in the Gold Coast where new products are developed and tested to an international standard. Natural Fiji is run by its own staff, working closely with Fiji’s indigenous communities and is one of few companies in the country run in such a fashion.

Much of Natural Fiji’s product range is new to the New Zealand market. “As such we don’t have any major market share yet. The idea of participating at the Auckland Spring Home and Gift Fair is to get some potential retailers or stockists. However, there are some clients already using the products that have come to know about the product through word of mouth,” Ms Sharma said.

Natural Fiji is looking to connect with retailers, pharmacies, health shops and gift retailers that would like to stock up the company’s facial, body, hair care, health tonic, virgin coconut oil and coconut body bars.

Ms Sharma said Natural Fiji would be test-marketing its range of products at the show. Ms Sharma will be representing the company at the Spring Home and Gift Fair.
