Niue organic vanilla delight at Auckland Food Show

Niue Vanilla International is a small family business proudly represented at the Pacific Trade Invest (PTI) New Zealand stand at the Auckland Food Show 26-29 July 2018 by Managing Director Stanley Kalauni. It is the delicious aroma of organic Niue Vanilla that will draw the crowd.   It’s not unusual to see people entranced by the scent, following their noses right to the stand.  Drawn like bees to find an array of delightfully plump vanilla pods; vials of vanilla extract; granules; paste and powder. Virgin coconut oil products aside.

This is great for the PTI NZ stand who have hosted Niue Vanilla International several times at past Pacific island food and beverage promotions.

For PTI NZ, the Pacific Hub at the Auckland Food Show 2016 was a memorable show with great outcomes.

Niue Vanilla International’s organic vanilla was acknowledged by Geoff White, CEO of New Zealand’s Trade Aid chain of retail outlets as a product ready for the market.  Mr White finalised the decision to stock Trade Aid stores with Niue Vanilla International’s products in 2016 at PTI NZ’s Pacific Hub stand.  It was a big step forward for Niue Vanilla International who became the first Pacific Island product to be stocked by Trade Aid.

The popularity of the Niue’s Vanilla has grown with increasing demand for its premium quality vanilla pods and products.

Niue Vanilla adopts Fair Trade principles, following BIOGRO guidelines and standards.  BIOGRO is a New Zealand based internationally recognised, organic certification body.  NVI supports and source green beans from over 60 local farmers registered under the Niue Island Organic Farmers Association (NIOFA).

Premium quality vanilla pods are sun cured naturally under an organic certified facility.  They are naturally dried in a specific time schedule.

Visitors to Niue Vanilla Internationals’ stand will find a full range of organic vanilla products and virgin coconut oil.

The online product range is available at www.vanilla.co.nz/product-category/pure-vanilla, including:

A range of 5 Premium Plus Grade vanilla pods; Pure Vanilla Extract 50-250 mls, Pure Vanilla extract with coconut alcohol 50mls; Vanilla Powder 50-70gms;  Pure vanilla paste from 60gm to 200gms;  Virgin Coconut Oil and Honey Vanilla paste 120gm.  NVI will also launch three new products later on this year.

Stanley Kalauni is the Director of Niue Vanilla International.  He is the front person for a small well-established company from on Niue Island. The thriving business has risen from the destruction of 2004’s Cyclone Heta that claimed the lives of a mother and her baby, swallowed homes and buildings into the sea, devastated food sources and plantations.  Mr Kalauni and his family worked with Niue’s vanilla growers to revive the industry and build a sustainable and productive business for 60 local vanilla farmers.

NVI have invested in a 3 acre farm on a family plot in the village of Hakupu with an expected harvest of over 250kg of green beans for the 2018 season.  The farm continues to expand with 15,000 vines and 2,000 supporting trees planted over the last 2 years.
