The spotlight was firmly on eight Pacific island enterprises – Samoa’s Ma’oi; Fiji’s Foods Pacific Ltd and Genes Premium Seafoods; Vanuatu’s Azure Pure Water Ltd; Niue Vanilla Organic; NiuLife and Solagro Products from the Solomon Islands and PNG’s Superior Coffee who took part in Pacific Trade Invest (PTI) Australia’s Pacific Showcase at Fine Food Australia from 11-14 September.

Fine Food Australia is Australasia’s largest trade only food event attracting enterprises from across the globe. Jeremy Grennell, PTI Australia’s General Manager Exports said PTI Australia’s Pacific Showcase was an overwhelming success.

“PTI Australia’s Pacific Showcase, provided an opportunity for enterprises from across the Pacific Islands to raise their awareness to an international audience and to get direct feedback from buyers on their products.

“The response our Pacific Island enterprises have had from the trade show has been overwhelmingly positive. Distributors and buyers from across Australia, Asia and North America visited our enterprises and they were impressed by both the quality and range of products from the Pacific Islands,” Mr Grennell said.

For many of the Pacific Island enterprises, including Azure Pure Water, PTI Australia’s Pacific Showcase was their first experience exhibiting at an international show.

Shaun Gilchrist, CEO, Azure Pure Water said as a trade only event it was a valuable opportunity to introduce the flavours of Vanuatu Water to a captive international audience.

“We feel very honoured to have represented Vanuatu at PTI Australia’s Pacific Showcase. It has been an amazing experience, we have had great feedback on our water from buyers and more importantly great leads that we can follow up.

“As a small Pacific enterprise, it would have been extremely difficult to be part of such a large trade show on our own. We are thankful to PTI Australia for providing this platform for us. Bringing enterprises together from across the Pacific has also strengthened our presence at the show.”
