One company each from the Northern Pacific Islands countries of Palau, The Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) and the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) will participate in the Pacific Trade Invest (PTI) New Zealand Pasifika Business Market this weekend in Auckland. These companies along with their unique range of products are profiled in this edition of Pacific Periscope.
The companies’ participation is part of the PTI Path to Market programme, the seven-stage capacity building programme to better equip Pacific Island companies find markets for their products in New Zealand. PTI NZ delivers the programme in each of the island nations partnering with the lead Economic Development Agency (EDA).
In Palau, RMI and FSM PTI NZ partnered with the Palau Chamber of Commerce, the Ministry of Natural Resources & Commerce of the Marshall Islands and Department of Resources & Development of the Federated States of Micronesia. These three organisations are the lead EDAs respectively of the three countries.
PTI NZ Trade & Investment Commissioner Michael Greenslade led Path to Market missions in each of these countries in the past couple of years and hosted workshops there partnering with their respective EDAs.
The Palau Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing the interests of the private sector in Palau.
It’s Executive Director Adora Nobuo, in a message to Pacific Periscope said, “Palau Chamber of Commerce thanks Pacific Trade Invest for working tirelessly in helping the smaller Palauan businesses in the community attend the Pasifika Festival.
“By attending the festival, the Palauan businesses showcasing their products will have the opportunity to expand and export their products to other Pacific Island states. Palau, being well known for its beauty and exhilarating underwater adventures, is now moving toward producing more products for visitors and hoping to export made in Palau products.”
The three companies can be found at the PTI NZ Pasifika Business Market at the Pasifika Festival in Western Springs, Auckland on March 24-25.
