Pasifika Culinary Experience takes to the Auckland Food Show

2019 Auckland Food Show

The Auckland Food Show is a huge annual event for the city, and passionate foodies. Held over four days it is a wonderful place for businesses to show off their product and gain real time feedback from those who attend.

PTI NZ uses events like the Auckland Food Show to expose products from the Pacific to the NZ Food and Beverage industry.

Trade Development Manager Aude Douyere says that the year has been difficult due to closed borders, limited travel and tightening on air and shipping freight.

“Unfortunately, COVID-19 has placed some hurdles in our way, but we always need to be thinking about how we promote the Blue Pacific and products from the region. We’re getting good at coming up with solutions that allow us to do this and this year we are pleased to be able to support six amazing companies.”

CocavoShe UniverseAshon VenturesTanna Coffee, Niue Honey Company and Red Shoots featuring Daily Good Co and Just Fresh Co are all New Zealand-based companies whose main components are sourced from the region, thus generating income for families and workers in their communities.

The PTI NZ-sponsored booths will feature a  Pasifika Culinary Experience via a Pasifika Produce Market, where industry representatives will show you honey from Niue, Fijian sauces, coconut oil and cacao beans from the Solomon Islands, all ready for your tastebuds to enjoy.

Tasting something is the best way to genuinely appreciate the products that go into a meal. We will have a chef on site who will be creating a bespoke menu made with all the products available for purchase and distribution.

We also invite you to come to our Pasifika Coffee Corner where the flavourful beans grown in the rich, fertile soil under the shadows of the still active Yasur volcano in Vanuatu, making this Arabica coffee something special.

Open to the public and over the course of four days, thousands of food lovers will be revelling in a storm of flavour and goodness, so grab a ticket and come visit us in our Pasifika Culinary Experience.
