The Pacific Trade Invest (PTI) NZ Pacific Path to Market business capability building programme came to Papua New Guinea in early December last year with workshops being conducted in both Lae and Port Moresby.
This programme has been rolled out to several regional locations during 2017, such as Gizo (Solomon Islands), Chuuk and Yap (Federated States of Micronesia) and Lae in PNG.
It has become clear that the Pacific Path to Market workshops are very well supported in regional areas where support for small businesses is difficult to access and that any business help that is offered is welcomed.
The workshop programme content included a new module in PNG aimed at assisting businesses to achieve the most successful outcomes from participation in trade shows that are held very regularly across the Pacific.
This module included exercises where participants can create their own logo and produce an effective trade show stand plan incorporating many of the ideas covered during the workshop.
PTI NZ believes this will be very useful to companies generally and to those who will be attending the Pasifika Festival in Auckland in March 2018.
Attendance at the PNG workshops was excellent and PTI NZ would like to thank our partners, the Investment Promotion Authority of PNG (IPA), for helping us make the programme such a success.
PTI NZ would also like to thank NZ High Commissioner to PNG, Sue Mackwell, for hosting an official welcoming function which included businesses that participated in the Port Moresby workshop and was much appreciated by all who attended.
