Pacific Trade Invest New Zealand’s commitment to help build the capacity of our youth, public officials and stakeholders responds to PIFS Strategic Outcome A : Promoting people-centred development through research, market surveys, analysis, PR, social media, investment promotion and compliments PTI NZ’s vision for improving the livelihoods of pacific people by enabling decent work and economic growth in the Blue Pacific. We are committed to providing a safe, enabling workspace that encourages young leaders from the Blue Pacific to broaden their understanding of the intricacies involved in driving trade and investment flows between pacific island economies and New Zealand.

The following openings are available under our Internship Programme:

Trade Department

· Undertake market research, analysis, trends and design recommendations

· Interpret and analyse trends, market influences, NZ import market by industry

· Identify NZ buyers/importers/wholesalers/retailers for exporters

· Produce research reports and presentations

· Support the organisation of tradeshows to promote Pacific products to NZ buyers/importers

Investment Department

· Research and report on the investment climate of Forum Islands countries including the role and responsibilities of IPAs; regulatory environment and status of investment instruments

· Research and report on development finance options available in NZ to build and support enterprises in the pacific island countries.

· Review the Pacific Hub Investment Database and recommend areas for improvement

· Create qualified investment ready projects from the Pacific Hub Database

Communication Department

· Using the PTI Style Guide design marketing collateral, for promotional purposes

· Capture video and photo content during official events

· Assist in the creation of original content (messages and/or multimedia) for our website, newsletters, magazines and social media: Facebook and LinkedIn

· Monitor and analyse statistics related to social media content and marketing campaigns

· Support Trade and Investment teams with generating new ideas for promoting their programmes

Qualifications Required:

· An empathy for the Pacific Islands

· A general knowledge of ICT

· Superior command of the English language with excellent written and oral communication skills

· Demonstrating time management and organisation skills

· NCEA Level 3 or higher

· Strong capability in market research analysis, marketing & communications or related discipline

· Graphic design skills in adobe software or related software

· Possess an overall understanding of social media platforms and their landscape

· Have a strong business sense in promoting and facilitating investment projects

Competency skills required:
